Before you begin
Check your mounting hardware kit against the parts list to make sure you received everything.
Gather your tools: screwdriver, tape measure, pencil, drill, level and step stool.
If you are mounting into drywall or plaster, get #6 plastic anchors (not included).
- Shades up to 36" wide: 2 mounting brackets
- Shades 37" to 52" wide: 3 mounting brackets
- Shades 53" to 72" wide: 4 mounting brackets
- 1 1/8" screws: 2 per bracket
- Hold-down brackets: 2 (outside mount only), with 4 3/8" screws
- Bottom-rail handles: 1 for shades up to 59" wide, 2 for shades over 59" wide
- The kit includes one extra screw of each size.
- When drilling, use a 3/32" drill bit for screws and a 1/4" drill bit for wall anchors.
Attach the brackets to the headrail
Place one bracket about 1" to 6" from each end of the headrail.
If your shade needs 3 or more brackets, space the extra brackets as evenly as possible between the two outer ones, where they won't interfere with the cords and mechanisms inside the headrail.
Hold each bracket with its locking arm facing out.
Position the bracket so the headrail engages the inside front and back of the bracket.
Push the lock arm inward until it clicks to lock the headrail in place.
Outside mount
With the brackets attached to the headrail, hold the shade as level as possible at the desired height, centered over the window.
Mark the exact location of each bracket on the wall with a pencil.
Remove the brackets from the headrail.
Pre-drill the screw holes with a 5/64" drill bit for easier installation.
Secure each bracket to the wall at its marks with the 1 1/8" screws.
Inside mount
With the brackets clipped onto the headrail, hold the shade in place inside the window frame.
Mark where the brackets touch the window frame with a pencil.
Remove the brackets from the headrail and line them up with your marks.
Pre-drill the screw holes with a 5/64" drill bit.
Screw the brackets into the frame with the included 1 1/8" screws.
Secure the headrail
Place the headrail into the mounted brackets.
Push each lock arm inward to lock the headrail in place.
Gently pull on the headrail to make sure it is locked securely.
Attach the handle
Clip the handle onto the bottom rail, hooking it over the front and back edges of the rail.
If your shade has 2 handles, divide the total shade width by 4 and attach one handle that distance in from each outside edge.
- The handle is designed to minimize contact with the shade fabric to keep it in excellent condition.
Raise and lower the shade
To lower the shade, grip the bottom rail or handle and gently pull straight down to the desired height.
To raise the shade, place your hand under the bottom rail or handle and slowly lift it to the desired height.
