Mark the bracket locations

Brackets must be aligned and level for the blind to work properly.

  1. Inside mount: place the box brackets in the top corners of the window frame.

  2. Outside mount: place the box brackets on the ends of the headrail and use a tape measure to find their locations on the wall.

  3. Space the support brackets evenly between the box brackets, keeping them clear of the ladder cords.

  4. Mark the bracket positions with a pencil.

  • Bracket quantities vary by blind size. Support brackets are included for blinds wider than 36".
  • Make sure the support brackets do not interfere with the ladder cords.

Install the brackets

  1. Drill pilot holes at your marks.

  2. Inside mount: screw the brackets to the top of the window frame with the screws provided.

  3. Outside mount: screw the brackets to the wall with the screws provided. Wall anchors (not included) may be needed for a secure hold.

  4. Spacer blocks (outside mount only, optional): to clear obstructions such as window molding, attach a spacer block behind each bracket using the longer screws from the spacer block kit. Each block adds 3/8" of clearance behind the blind.

Insert the wand

  1. Push the hook end of the wand up into the tilter opening on the headrail until it clicks into place.

Attach the valance

For an inside mount, attach the valance before installing the blind. For an outside mount, attach it after installing the blind.

  1. If the valance clips come in two pieces, slide the pieces together.

  2. If you have valance returns, slide the corner connector into the groove on the back of each return and push the return onto the end of the valance to form the corner.

  3. Space the valance clips evenly along the back of the valance and twist them into the groove.

  4. Press the valance down onto the front of the headrail so the clips grip it.

  • Valance clips are vertically adjustable, so you can set the final valance height after installation is complete.

Install the blind

  1. Slide the headrail into the brackets.

  2. Snap each bracket door closed.

Install hold-down brackets (optional)

  1. Inside mount: fasten a hold-down bracket to the sill below each end of the bottom rail so its pin fits into the hole in the end of the rail.

  2. Outside mount: fasten a hold-down bracket to the wall beside each end of the bottom rail so its pin fits into the hole in the end of the rail.

Operate the blind

  1. Rotate the wand to tilt the slats open before raising or lowering the blind.

  2. Use both hands on the bottom rail to lift or lower the blind.

  3. Rotate the wand to tilt the slats to the position you want.
