Before you begin
Make sure the mounting surface is level. The brackets must be in line and level for the shade to work properly; shim them if needed.
Leave the "Do Not Remove Until Installation" paper wrap on the shade until it is completely installed.
Decide on an inside mount (the shade fits within the window opening) or an outside mount (the shade mounts outside the opening).
Before mounting the brackets, add any clearance depth needed to avoid obstructions such as window cranks or handles.
Attach the optional fabric valance
Install the valance first, then continue with the shade. If you have an open roll headrail without a valance, skip this section.
Inside mount: screw the valance directly to the top of the window frame, drilling vertically through its pre-drilled slots.
Outside mount: install the brackets level and aligned with each other using the screws provided, then slide the valance under the clips on top of the brackets.
- Inside mount valance: minimum mounting depth 1 1/4"; flush mount depth 3 1/8"
Cordless (PerfectPlacement) shade: mount the brackets
These standard brackets work for inside or outside mounts on flat surfaces. Do not mount on curved surfaces.
Inside mount: mark 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" in from each end of the head jamb for the end brackets.
Inside mount: space any additional brackets evenly between the end brackets and mark them.
Inside mount: with the clear tab facing into the room, screw each bracket up through the top of the head jamb, into wood whenever possible.
Outside mount: center the mounting bar over the window at the height you want and lightly mark each end with a pencil (or measure the bar's width and mark its end points).
Outside mount: mark the end brackets 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" in from the bar end marks and space any additional brackets evenly between them.
Outside mount: with the clear tab pointing toward the floor, screw each bracket through its side into the wall above the molding, into wood whenever possible.
Check that all the brackets are level.
- Up to 36" wide: 2 brackets
- 36 1/8" to 48" wide: 3 brackets
- 48 1/8" to 60" wide: 4 brackets
- 60 1/8" to 72" wide: 5 brackets
- 72 1/8" to 90" wide: 6 brackets
- Inside mount: minimum 1 5/8" mounting depth
Cordless (PerfectPlacement) shade: install the mounting bar
Inside mount: hook the back groove of the mounting bar onto the hook at the back of each bracket.
Inside mount: rotate the bar forward toward the clear tabs and push until each tab clicks and locks.
Outside mount: hook the top groove of the mounting bar onto the hook at the top of each bracket.
Outside mount: rotate the bar downward toward the clear tabs and push until each tab clicks and locks.
Cordless (PerfectPlacement) shade: attach the handle and operate
For a shade 42" wide or less, attach the handle at the center of the bottom rail: insert one end, then rotate and push the handle up against the bottom rail until it snaps in place.
For a shade wider than 42", attach the two handles spaced evenly across the bottom rail so you can grip them with both hands.
To lower the shade, pull the bottom rail handle down to the height you want.
To raise the shade, push up on the bottom rail handle to the height you want.
- Use the handle(s) when raising and lowering for better support and smoother operation.
Install the magnetic hold-down (optional)
The magnets come pre-installed on the bottom rail; a round catch plate is provided.
Lower the shade so the magnet lines up where you want the catch.
Mark the catch position by pressing the screw into the wall.
Raise the shade and screw the catch plate to the mark with the screw provided.
- Always detach the bottom rail from the hold-down brackets or catches before raising the shade.
Cordless (PerfectPlacement) shade: remove or adjust tension
To remove an inside mount shade, press the clear tab on each bracket to release the front hook, rotate the front edge of the mounting bar down, then push it slightly back to free it from the back hooks.
To remove an outside mount shade, press the clear tab on each bracket to release the bottom hook, rotate the bottom edge of the mounting bar up, then lift it slightly to free it from the hooks.
To adjust tension, remove the shade, then pull the bracket cover down and outward to take it off.
With a 5mm Allen wrench, turn the spring head (left side for a standard roll, right side for a reverse roll): clockwise to increase tension, counterclockwise to reduce it.
Push the cover back up onto the bracket until it snaps securely, then reinstall the shade.
Open roll shade (continuous loop or motorized): install the brackets
Tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2", inside mount: install each bracket with two screws, either through the side or up through the top.
Tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2", outside mount: secure each bracket with two screws through its side.
Double brackets (1 1/2" tubes only, inside mount only): install each bracket with two screws through the top.
Tubes 3 1/4", inside mount: screw the brackets through the top with the screws provided.
Tubes 3 1/4", outside mount: secure each bracket with two screws through its side.
Check that all brackets are level and aligned with each other.
- Tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2", outside mount: minimum 1 3/4" mounting surface height
- Double brackets: minimum 1 3/4" mounting depth; 2 1/8" to 4" for a flush mount (depends on roll diameter)
- Tubes 3 1/4", inside mount: minimum 3" mounting depth; 2 1/8" to 4" for a flush mount (depends on roll diameter)
- Tubes 3 1/4", outside mount: minimum 3" mounting surface height
Open roll shade: hang the shade
Motorized shades: pair the shade with the remote before installing it (see Pair and charge a motorized shade).
Continuous loop: place the spring-loaded pin end into the round hole of the bracket.
Continuous loop: keeping the pin end in place, insert the two hooks on the clutch straight into the slots of the other bracket, then pull down gently until they lock. The bottom of the clutch with the chain loop should point straight down.
Motorized, tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2": place the pin end in its bracket, insert the motor head hooks straight into the bracket slots and pull down gently until they lock, with the motor's reset button facing down.
Motorized, tubes 3 1/4": rotate the roll so the motor's reset button faces down, place the pin end in the idler bracket, insert the motor head into the slots of the motor bracket, then snap the ring retaining clip in place to lock the motor.
Tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2": press the end caps onto the brackets until they click.
Continuous loop: mount and secure the beaded cord tensioner; the shade will not work properly unless it is installed correctly.
Motorized wand: with the wand buttons facing you, hang the top of the wand on the metal hook support on the motor side, then plug its cable into the motor head.
Cassette valance shade: install the brackets and shade
Inside mount: measure 2 1/2" in from each side of the window frame and screw the brackets up through their tops, level and aligned.
Outside mount: center the shade over the window at the height and width you want and mark each end of the cassette.
Outside mount: measure 2 1/2" in from each cassette end mark and screw the brackets through their sides, level and aligned.
Space any additional brackets evenly between the end brackets.
Hook the back of the cassette onto the back of the brackets until it clicks.
Rotate the front of the cassette up until it clicks onto the front of the brackets.
Pair and charge a motorized shade
Fully charge the shade before first use with the standard micro-USB cable, or with the magnetic charging adapter on the 5V power adapter; the battery is built into the headrail.
Pair the shade before installing it: use the - and + buttons on the remote to choose a channel.
Press and hold the programming button on the shade for about 2 seconds until the shade jogs and/or beeps once.
Within 10 seconds, press and hold the center (square) button on the remote until the shade jogs twice and/or beeps three times.
If you bought a hub, download the LEVOLOR InMotion app. The shade can pair directly to the app, but pairing to the remote first is recommended.
- Indicator light: red flash = low battery
- Indicator light: green flash = charging
- Indicator light: solid green = charged
Remove an open roll or cassette shade
Open roll, tubes 1 1/2" to 2 1/2": raise the shade, lift the control (hook) end until the hooks touch the top of the bracket slots, slide the roll toward the pin end until the hooks are out, then remove the pin end from the idler bracket.
Open roll, tubes 3 1/4": raise the shade, remove the ring retaining clip from the motor, slide the roll toward the pin end until the motor head is out of its slots, then remove the pin end from the idler bracket.
Cassette: insert a screwdriver at the top front of the cassette and twist to release the snap, then rotate the front of the cassette down and off the brackets.
No-drill headrail mounting system (optional)
This inside mount system comes with the shade brackets already attached, so no drilling is needed.
If mounting against a smooth surface such as painted aluminum or tile, peel one liner off the included double-sided adhesive and press it firmly onto both end caps.
Place the system in the window opening with the lever end tight against the window casing.
If there is a gap at the other end, slide the end cap out until it touches the casing (maximum 1/2" adjustment). On smooth surfaces, remove the remaining adhesive liners and set the system back in place.
Make sure the system is level, then press the lever up to lock it in place.
Install the shade into the brackets on the system.
To remove it, take the shade down first, hold the system securely and pry the locking lever open with a flat head screwdriver.
If the movable end cap needs to be pushed back in, turn the locking tab release screws with a small flat head screwdriver, push the end cap in, then return the tabs to their original position.
- The locking lever releases abruptly; keep your hand clear of it.
