Mount the shade brackets (no raceway)
Choose your mount: inside-top, inside-side, inside-back or outside.
For an inside mount, fit the bracket cover over each shade bracket before screwing it in.
Place each bracket so its front mounting hole is at least 3/4" from the front edge of the window frame.
Line both brackets up with each other horizontally.
Fasten each bracket with two 1 1/4" hexagon screws.
Install the shade (no raceway)
Insert the control end of the shade into the tongue of the control-side bracket.
Press in the end plug and insert it into the hole of the bracket on the other side.
Slide the lock pin in the end plug bracket down into the end plug so the shade can't fall.
Remove the paper band from the shade.
Check with a level that the fabric roll is horizontal; if not, adjust the brackets until it is.
- The gap on the end plug side should be about 3/16".
Install the raceway: inside mount
Attach the shade brackets and raceway bracket clips to the two ends of the raceway, making sure each clip's bolt locks into the raceway's dedicated hole.
Put the raceway into the window opening and drive screws into its middle holes first so you can still slide it left or right.
Once the raceway is positioned, screw in the remaining holes, keeping the first screw at least 3/4" from the window edge.
Install the shade the same way as a regular shade without raceway.
Install the raceway: outside mount
Place the end mounting brackets 2" to 4" from each end of the raceway and divide the space between any middle brackets evenly.
Keep each bracket's front mounting hole at least 3/4" from the front edge of the window frame, and line all brackets up horizontally.
Fasten each bracket with two 1 1/4" hexagon screws.
Slide the lock pin in the end plug side shade bracket down into the end plug so the shade can't fall.
Insert the back edge of the raceway into the back plastic part of the brackets, then rotate the raceway up until its front rib snaps into the brackets.
Attach the fascia
Push the fascia brackets onto the installed raceway, hooking the top groove over the top of the raceway and clipping the bottom groove onto its bottom rib. Space them so the length is divided evenly.
Insert the fascia clips into the groove on the fascia's aluminum strip, facing up and lined up with the fascia brackets.
If your fascia has returns, attach the fascia end caps.
Slide the clips along the fascia so each lines up with a bracket on the raceway, then push the clips into the brackets.
Set up a continuous cord loop shade
Fully extend the bead chain and install the safety tension device with two 2" flat head screws.
To lower the shade, pull down on the side of the bead chain closest to the shade fabric.
To raise the shade, pull down on the side of the bead chain farthest from the fabric.
Add the magnetic hold-down (optional)
Position the magnet catch 9/16" in from the side edge of the shade and 11/16" up from the bottom edge, lined up with the magnet pre-installed in the bottom rail.
Secure the magnet catch with a 5/8" flat head screw.
Set up a cordless shade
Turn over the hem bar and find the label at its center.
Center the bottom of the handle on the label, hook the handle onto the hem bar from top to bottom, and press it down until the top clips into the hem bar.
Tear the label off the hem bar.
Pull the handle down or up to lower or raise the shade. For high shades, place the U-shaped channel of the pole under the handle and push up to raise, or use the hook end to pull the handle down.
To remove the handle, pry its bottom off the hem bar with a flat-head screwdriver.
Adjust cordless tension
The shade must be installed on its brackets when you adjust the tension.
If the shade slides down on its own or won't roll up, turn the adjustment dial toward "+" to increase the tension.
If the shade won't stop at the height you want and rolls up by itself, turn the dial toward "-" to decrease the tension.
Set up a motorized shade (AC adapter MRS-32A)
Brackets and shade install the same way as non-motorized shades. Leave room to connect the power charger when you install the shade.
Connect the connector cord to the 36W adapter. If you ordered an extension cord, connect it between the connector cord and the adapter.
Plug the connector cord into the motor cable, then plug the adapter into an outlet. The shade turns on automatically and the indicator light blinks green.
Motors ship in sleep mode; short-press P1 once to wake the motor before operating it.
- The remote has 15 channels (1 to 15). The shade comes programmed to channel 1 unless another was specified, and channel 0 operates all shades at once.
- Upper and lower limits must be set for the shade to work fully; see the separate Remote Control Manual for pairing and limit setting.
Operate the motorized shade
Use the channel selectors (+/-) on the remote to choose the shade's channel.
Press the up arrow to raise the shade and the down arrow to lower it; press the center square to stop it at any point.
Without the remote, press the button on the shade to start it moving, press again to stop, and press again to move it the opposite way.
Troubleshoot the motorized shade
If the shade doesn't respond, operate it with the remote and watch the shade's LED: green blinking means the signal is received; red means low battery or over-temperature; red and green means another problem; no light means no signal, not paired or powered off.
Check that the remote's group lights work, or replace the remote batteries.
If the shade still doesn't respond, pair it with the remote using the Remote Control Manual.
If the LED blinks red during operation, the motor may be overheated; wait at least 30 minutes before trying again.
If the limits have shifted (for example after a power failure) or aren't fully set, set them again using the Remote Control Manual.
For other problems, hold the shade button for 3 seconds to power it off and on. If that doesn't help, hold it for 10 seconds until the red light comes on to reboot the shade.
Remove the shade and fascia
Fascia: pull off the fascia together with its clips, detaching them from the brackets.
Regular shade or inside-mount raceway: push the lock pin on the end plug bracket up with a tool, draw the end plug back out of the bracket, then lift the shade out.
Outside-mount raceway: push back the front or back plastic part of the brackets with a tool, rotate the back of the raceway down to free it, then pull the raceway down out of the brackets.
To remove fascia brackets from the raceway, take the shade down first, then turn each bracket 90 degrees and lift it off.
