Before you begin
Find the included 1 1/2" #8 hex head wood screws. For metal, brick, tile or concrete, use suitable fasteners instead (not included).
Check the chart to confirm how many brackets your blind needs.
- Up to 54" wide: 2 brackets
- 54 1/8" to 84" wide: 3 brackets
- 84 1/8" to 94" wide: 4 brackets
Outside mount brackets
The standard wall brackets are adjustable and give 1/2" to 1 1/2" of clearance from the wall.
Work out the height for the top of the brackets, measured from the floor, by adding 1/2" to the blind height including the headrail. The louvers will then clear the floor by 1/2".
Place the first bracket directly over the corner of the window and space the rest no more than 30" apart.
Screw the brackets to the wall, adjusting them so the louvers clear all obstructions.
Inside or ceiling mount clips
Inside and ceiling mounts use mounting clips to hold the headrail. If your blind has a valance, install the valance first; no valance clips are needed.
Space the mounting clips no more than 30" apart, with the center of each clip lined up with the center of a louver carrier stem.
Position the screws at least 2 1/4" in front of the window frame or any projection, and allow at least 1/2" of clearance above the sill or carpet.
If you have a valance, drive each clip's mounting screw through the valance into the ceiling or top of the window well, making sure the louvers will not touch the valance.
Install the headrail
Hook the headrail into the installation brackets or clips and swing it up until it snaps into place.
To remove the headrail, push the release lip up with a screwdriver.
Attach the valance (outside mount)
Snap the plastic valance clips onto the aluminum headrail.
Slide the top of the valance into the valance clips until it locks in place.
If the valance returns aren't preassembled, slide a clear plastic corner clip onto the top edge of the valance, then slide the valance return into the other side of the corner clip.
Trim the valance returns to fit with heavy-duty scissors if needed.
Install the louvers
Push each louver up into its carrier stem, then pull it slightly straight down to lock it in place.
If the louvers are curved, install them with the curved side facing the wand.
- If the front of the louvers faces the wand, the wand will be in front of the louvers when the blind is closed; if the back faces the wand, the wand will be behind them.
Operate the blind
Turn the wand in the direction you want the louvers to rotate. Doing this after installation also aligns the louvers.
To open or close the blind, rotate the louvers to the open position, then push or pull the wand to stack (open) or unstack (close) the louvers.
