Before you begin

  1. Motorized shades: pair the shade with the remote before installing it, using the programming instructions included with the remote.

  2. Cordless shades: leave the lock pin in place until the shade is installed.

  3. Make sure the mounting surface is level; the brackets must be in line and level for the shade to work properly.

Inside mount

  1. Measure 2 1/2" in from each side of the window frame for the end brackets.

  2. Screw the brackets up into the top of the frame with the screws provided, level and aligned with each other.

  3. Space any additional brackets evenly between the end brackets.

Outside mount

  1. Center the shade over the window opening at the height and width you want.

  2. Mark the location of each end of the cassette.

  3. Measure 2 1/2" in from each cassette end mark for the end brackets, and space any additional brackets evenly between them.

  4. Screw the brackets to the wall through their backs with the screws provided, level and aligned with each other.

Attach the shade

  1. Hook the back of the cassette onto the back of the brackets until it clicks.

  2. Rotate the front of the cassette up until it clicks onto the front of the brackets.

  3. Cordless shades: once the shade is securely on the brackets, pull the lock pin straight down to remove it before operating the shade. Keep the pin somewhere safe.

  4. Continuous loop shades: mount and secure the bead chain tensioner; the shade will not work properly unless it is installed correctly.

Remove the shade (only if necessary)

  1. Cordless shades: raise the shade and push the lock pin back into the shade first.

  2. Insert a flat screwdriver at the top front edge of the cassette and twist it to release the snap.

  3. Rotate the front of the cassette down and lift it off the brackets.
