Before you begin

Install the shade before you try to operate the motor.

  1. Check that the mounting hardware kit has the right number of brackets, screws and wall anchors for your shade's width.

  2. Decide whether to mount the shade inside or outside the window frame.

  3. Use the included wall anchors for wallboard or plaster; for concrete, stone or brick, use a masonry drill bit and masonry anchors or screws (not included).

  • Up to 45" wide: 2 brackets, 4 screws, 4 wall anchors
  • Up to 72" wide: 3 brackets, 6 screws, 6 wall anchors
  • Up to 94" wide: 4 brackets, 8 screws, 8 wall anchors

Inside mount

  1. Position one bracket about 2" to 6" from each end of the cassette headrail, spacing any additional brackets evenly between the two outer brackets.

  2. Mark each screw hole location on the inside top of the window opening with a pencil.

  3. Pre-drill the screw holes with a 5/64" bit.

  4. Screw each bracket in place with the screws provided.

  5. For a flush inside mount, attach the brackets to the headrail first, hold the shade in the window opening where you want it, and mark the back of each bracket. Remove the brackets from the headrail, line them up with the marks, and screw them in place.

Outside mount

  1. Position one bracket about 2" to 6" from each end of the headrail on the wall or window framing, spacing any additional brackets evenly between the two outer brackets.

  2. Mark the screw hole locations with a pencil.

  3. Pre-drill the screw holes with a 5/64" bit.

  4. Screw the brackets in place, using a level to make sure they're aligned.

Secure the headrail

  1. Set the back bottom edge of the cassette headrail into the bottom of each mounting bracket.

  2. Push the headrail forward and up until it snaps into the top of the brackets.

Operate a motorized shade

  1. Follow the separate programming and operating instructions that came with your shade.

  2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons on the remote to raise and lower the shade and adjust the fabric bands to the mix of light and privacy you want.
